Job Description

  • Design and implement Kubernetes solutions utilising the organisation's current and future capabilities.
  • Act as a representative for service owners to Sys Eng's internal Product Owners, influencing priorities and shaping feature roadmaps for existing capabilities.
  • Develop new systems and capabilities from the ground up, ensuring the code is clean, rigorously tested, well-reviewed, and scalable.
  • Mature and transition developed solutions to Operations for ongoing maintenance.
  • Provide consultation to service owners on their engineering needs within Systems Engineering.
  • Work with a broad spectrum of technologies, including containerization, compute and network management tools, Kubernetes, the Service Now platform, configuration management tools, and foundational systems like DNS/LDAP/DHCP, among others.

Qualifications

  • Proven ability to drive change, with a passion for and experience in successfully introducing new services at scale.
  • Strong technical background with broad experience in delivering solutions across multiple layers of the technology stack, from bare metal servers to application CLIs/UIs.
  • A continuous learner who thrives on solving new problems, exploring new technologies, and sharing knowledge with others.
  • Proficiency in software development, including experience in designing, authoring, testing, and debugging code in a popular systems language such as Python, Go, Ansible.
  • A commitment to continuous improvement, both personally and in the work environment.
  • A collaborative mindset, enjoying teamwork and working across different teams.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
