Job Description

**Job Summary:** Psychologist, Staff Grade, required to provide comprehensive psychological services to children and families in West Cork. **Job Description:** The Psychologist, Staff Grade, will work with the interdisciplinary team to provide a comprehensive psychological service to children and their families enrolled in WCCDNT. The main responsibilities include: * Providing a broad range of psychological services to clients and their families, including direct and indirect services, face-to-face consultations, and telehealth. * Completing psychological assessments as required. * Providing psychological interventions, including behavioral support, family/sibling support, and group work. * Liaising with children and their families regarding assessments, IFSP, outcomes, interventions, and reviews. * Participating in meetings, including area team meetings, psychology meetings, and planning meetings. * Working as part of the multidisciplinary team to provide initial team assessments, team reviews, and team interventions. * Providing professional reports and participating in case conferences and other consultancy work as required. * Liaising with other professionals and organisations as appropriate. * Representing the organisation at meetings, seminars, and conferences. * Keeping records and submitting reports as required. * Providing in-service training to staff and parents as required. * Taking responsibility for one's own continued professional development. * Actively using supervision to benefit one's professional practice. * Carrying out research relevant to the organisation as required. * Keeping up to date with best practice procedures and working within the parameters of the professional Code of Ethics. **Essential Qualifications:** * Honours primary degree in Psychology * Relevant postgraduate qualification in Psychology * Membership of, or eligibility for membership of, the Irish Psychological Society of Ireland **Essential Skills:** * Good communication and interpersonal skills * Counselling and behaviour management skills * Ability to carry out psychological assessments for children and adults * Good report writing skills * Ability to plan, implement, and review individual and group programmes * Flexible nature and ability to work individually and as part of a multi-disciplinary team * Enthusiasm, self-motivation, and keenness to develop professional skills **Desirable Skills:** * Good knowledge of the Irish Psychology environment in a community setting **Essential Experience:** * Experience of working within the area of intellectual disabilities * Experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary team **Desirable Experience:** * Experience of working within a community setting **Company Information:** Co Action West Cork CLG is an equal opportunity employer.
