Overview: Post Title: Staff Nurse Post Status: Permanent Department: Dermatology Location: Beaumont Hospital Reports to: Clinical Nurse Specialist / CNM3 / DNM Salary: Appointment will be made on Staff Nurse Grade ( €35,919 - €53,851) at a point in line with Government pay policy. Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week Closing Date: 29th October 2024 @ 12 noon Responsibilities: As a Dermatology Staff Nurse in Beaumont Hospital, you will be responsible for providing specialised nursing care to patients with various skin conditions, assisting with dermatological procedures, and educating patients on skin care and treatment plans. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety. Your duties will include conducting patient assessments, performing wound care, and assisting with minor surgical procedures. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate patient records, monitoring patient progress, and providing emotional support to patients and their families. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, a compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You should be well-versed in dermatology-specific treatments and procedures, including laser therapy and phototherapy. Clinical Role: Assessing (with the patients where possible) physical, psychological and social problems and the need for nursing intervention. Preparing and up-dating the documentation within a nursing framework to include treatment delegated by medical staff. Continuing the care provided at ward level to ensure safe discharge of patients to their home or care facility. Acting as team leader in giving skilled nursing care and treatments for the patients using the unit. Planning the involvement of the patient’s relatives, teaching and supervising nursing techniques in preparation for the transfer home. Qualifications: Mandatory: Be registered in the General Division of the Register of Nurses kept by An Bord Altranais (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland) or be entitled to be so registered.
