Job Description

We are seeking a passionate Registered Mental Health Nurse to join our team at Waterston Unit, a mixed-sex ward providing high-quality care and treatment for patients with physical, social, psychological, and emotional health needs.

The purpose of the ward is to offer comprehensive assessments and treatment, enabling Service Users to have shorter stays in hospital and develop clear plans of care.

As a Staff Nurse, you will assist the Ward Manager in providing high-quality nursing care and treatment of patients in conjunction with other professionals.

You will provide a high-quality of care and treatment for patients who have physical, social, psychological, and emotional health needs and enable them to return home with support from the Home Treatment Team and/or their Community Mental Health Team.

This is a full-time role, and we would be flexible and accept part-time applications.

Main Duties:

  • Work closely as a multi-disciplinary team and value learning, having regular teaching and supervision with a shared vision and action plan for the service.
  • Communicate with relatives and other visitors.
  • Help to organise and participate in therapeutic and social activities to have a positive influence on patients' recovery.
  • Supervise junior staff.
  • Undertake a Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression course.
