Job Description
Key Skills for Cath Lab Nurse Role: Strong clinical and professional competence, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, proficiency in IT, and ability to manage clinical and non-clinical situations. Responsibilities include assessing and implementing quality nursing care, providing emergency care, and maintaining accurate documentation. Ideal candidate is a registered nurse with a minimum of 1 year experience in a Cath Lab, possessing a cardiology qualification and strong teamwork skills.
- Assessing and implementing quality nursing care, adhering to hospital policies and the Code of Professional Conduct
- Providing emergency care and routine nursing duties independently, supporting colleagues in delivering high-quality care
- Maintaining accurate, high-standard documentation and ensuring compliance with health and safety policies, reporting any risks
- Administering medication and managing departmental responsibilities while fostering good relationships with colleagues, patients, and families
Requirements:
- Registered on the general division of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland
- Minimum of 1 year experience working in a Cath Lab (Irish or UK Hospital)
- Proven clinical and professional competence
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficient in IT, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Competency in the English language
- Good character
Desirable Requirements:
- Cardiology qualification is an advantage but not essential
- Ability to manage clinical and non-clinical situations
- Teamwork skills in delivering nursing care
- Capacity for responsibility and individual initiative
- Interest in quality initiatives within the Nursing Service
- Knowledge of risk management, including investigation and reporting
