**Experienced Staff Nurse Wanted** We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Staff Nurse to join our team at emeis Ireland, the largest Nursing Home Group in Ireland, providing high-quality care to elderly residents. **Job Description** As a Staff Nurse at emeis Ireland, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care to our residents, ensuring their physical, psychological, religious, and social needs are met. You will work closely with the primary care team, relatives, and other staff members to deliver high-quality care. **Key Responsibilities** * Provide high-quality care to residents, meeting their physical, psychological, religious, and social needs * Liaise with the primary care team, relatives, and other staff members to ensure seamless care delivery * Take full responsibility for resident care, ensuring timely bathing, showering, and toileting * Use computer facilities to record and maintain resident files on EPIC * Report any ill-health amongst residents and consult with the Nurse Manager prior to making requests for GP visits * Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care, seeking medical or other interventions as required * Participate in the evaluation and review of policies and procedures as and when required * Ensure collection of specimens for laboratory testing * Administer prescribed medicines and maintain accurate records * Practice maximum integrity in all dealings with residents' personal and financial affairs **Residents** * Maintain accurate records and ensure each resident has an individualized Care Plan * Review Care Plans as and when required, in line with Company policies and NMBI guidelines * Establish and maintain relationships with residents based on respect and equality * Promote residents' independence and autonomy **Communication** * Advise the Home Manager of any incidents or accidents involving residents * Supervise visits and liaise with GPs to establish a good relationship between GPs and the Nursing Home * Inform the kitchen of any special dietary needs * Ensure clear and concise handover reports are given to relevant staff members at the end of each shift * Participate in staff and resident meetings as required **Budgetary and Financial Control** * Work within budgets agreed by the Home Manager and Head Office * Ensure all commodities used in the Nursing Home are sensibly conserved * Monitor usage of incontinence aids, wipes, dressings, and electricity **Human Resources** * Participate in staff induction and training programs as and when required * Supervise and instruct junior and new staff members in all aspects of their work * Maintain and improve professional knowledge and competence **Training and Development** * Supervise and mentor junior staff nurses * Maintain and improve professional knowledge and competence * Keep professionally updated in all areas of clinical expertise * Attend mandatory training days/courses as and when required **Health and Safety** * Report immediately to the Home Manager any illness of an infectious nature or accident incurred by a resident, colleague, or self * Understand and ensure implementation of the Nursing Home's Health and Safety policy and Emergency procedures * Promote safe working practices within the Nursing Home **General** * Adhere to all appropriate NMBI guidelines and regulations * Maintain all logbooks and records as required by the Company Management team * Ensure confidentiality of all information gained in the course of work * Notify the Home Manager of any inability to report for duty or return to work from periods of absence * Ensure the security of the Nursing Home is always maintained **Leadership** * Lead by example, motivate, and guide colleagues in the administration of care * Adhere to the dress code and wear Personal Protective Equipment as directed **Requirements** * Proof of full current registration with NMBI * Ability to communicate effectively at all levels * Clinical expertise in professional area of qualification * Team player * Genuine interest in working with elderly residents * Garda Vetting clearance * Care for the Elderly experience or qualification * Positive and compassionate attitude * High degree of empathy, sensitivity, and patience * Ability to follow procedures and instructions * Desire to use initiative, but also work in a team * Excellent observational and communication skills * Strong time management and organizational skills
