The Role
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the Proofpoint Tessian XFI (Cross Functional Integrations) team. The Tessian XFI team oversees the integration of Tessian inbound threat defence software, via API, to the Microsoft or Google e-mail platforms, and the development of Add-in (currently for Microsoft Office) for data loss prevention (DLP).
You will be joining the team at an exciting time, as the team prepares to further scale the Tessian XFI services and products, following the Proofpoint acquisition.
The XFI team's tech stack includes:
- Python 3.10
- AWS Services such as SQS, SNS, ECS, ECR, Lambda functions
- High volume NoSQL and SQL databases such as Dynamo DB, Postgres
- Terraform built environments
- DevOps tools and methodologies such as CircleCI, Docker, Git and GitHub
Your day-to-day
In the Tessian XFI Team, we deeply appreciate DevOps culture, as we build the XFI services, and we run it. Our day-to-day involves improving XFI services scalability and reliability; researching security vulnerabilities and implementing security measures; and monitoring production environments.
You will be expected to:
- Have expertise or unique knowledge that can be used to think outside the box and resolve complex problems.
- Use your skills to contribute to development of company objectives and principles.
- Work on significant and unique issues where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangibles.
- Act independently to determine methods and procedures on new or special assignments.
- Supervise the activities of other engineers in the team.
- Design and build reliable distributed systems that handle volumes of data with low latency.
- Maintain and support business-critical systems where scale and latency are front-of-mind.
- Ship code to production every day using CI/CD.
- Tackle the challenges that come with processing sensitive data.
- Learn to build with security in mind.
- Make your mark on ambitious projects.
