Job Description

As a Cloud Support Engineer at Amazon Web Services, you will be at the forefront of cloud computing technology, assisting global companies and developers with mission-critical applications. You will act as a Cloud Ambassador, arming customers with tools and tactics to get the most out of their AWS investment. You will work with leading engineers, partner with Amazon Web Services teams, and leverage your customer support experience to provide feedback on how to improve services. You will also write tutorials and technical articles for the developer community, work on complex customer problems, and drive customer communication during critical events. Key responsibilities include learning and using groundbreaking technologies, applying advanced troubleshooting techniques, and interacting with customers to resolve complex issues. You will also have the opportunity to work on projects that improve support-related processes and the technical support experience for customers. You will be responsible for providing customer support in a cloud environment, using a variety of customer contact channels, including telephone, email, and web/live chat. You will require strong communication skills, technical expertise, and a passion for cloud computing. Key qualifications include 2+ years of technical support experience, knowledge of DNS, HTTP, SSL, TCP, and UDP, as well as Unix/Linux or Windows system administration skills. You will also require knowledge of filesystem, block, and object storage, storage architectures, and backup/DR strategies, as well as experience with scripting and network troubleshooting tools. Prior experience with AWS services such as S3 storage, Storage Gateway, EFS, and AWS Backup is also required. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of OS and networking security concepts and standard methodologies.
