Unijobs on behalf of our client, Maynooth University are currently recruiting for a Student Budgetary Advisor to join the Student Support team. The successful candidate will deliver a comprehensive and holistic student advisory service for students, on a one-to-one and/or group basis on academic, personal, and financial issues, and will also refer and signpost students to other internal and external services. Reporting to the Student Support Officer, they will work in close collaboration with the Student Support team which incorporates, the Pastoral Care Advisor, the Student Budgeting Advice Service, Student Advisor, MaynoothStudentpad, and the Student Support Hub. Candidates should have a strong record of providing one-to-one, solution-focussed, timely and coordinated support to students, in a sensitive and confidential manner. Applicants for the post should have excellent organisational, people, communication, and IT skills. Applicants must be able to demonstrate an ability to work accurately under pressure and on their own ability. The candidate must have experience of completing concurrent tasks, with an excellent attention to detail and accuracy in their output. As this position will operate within Student Services, candidates should understand and have empathy with the mission, ethos, and overall approach of Student Services. The contract duration for this position is 3 months initially with a salary scale of €44,458 - €63,244. Principal Duties Administrative and other duties: This will include the following, Provide expert, holistic advice and support to current students with the objective of supporting Student engagement, retention, and success; Manage a caseload of students, co-ordinating and monitoring support, maintaining, and developing appropriate referral, advocacy, and sign-posting relationships, both internally and externally; Support students with more complex support needs by participating in case management meetings and monitoring outcomes, working directly with students, university personnel and the wider Student Services team where acute situations arise; Liaise internally across core organisational functions providing advice and support to staff on the specific needs of students; Contribute to the management and monitoring of financial resources available, including the Student Assistance Fund and the Student Emergency Fund, and develop and report on key performance indicators to support the development of a strong evidence base to inform policy. Contribute to the innovation and development of inclusive supports, and service improvement to ensure delivery of professional services, which is person-centred, adaptable, and approachable. Monitor, evaluate and report regularly on student supports and outcomes; Make recommendations to Student Services, to the Access Office or to relevant Committees, as appropriate, on students requiring financial support to remain in college; Contribute to the review, development and implementation of university policies and procedures in relation to the Service; Oversee the collection, analysis, and reporting of appropriate data, including completion of reports for HEA (Higher Education Authority), University Executive, University Committees, DSS, or as required; Contribute to the delivery of awareness raising activities and events, including staff and student induction and training on student supports, or other as required; Contribute to the development and delivery of an appropriate service Communications Strategy, where accurate and timely information are available for students and staff; Develop and facilitate collaborative working relationships across Maynooth University and with relevant external partners where appropriate, to ensure students' needs are met; Maintain up-to-date knowledge on best practice in relation to the delivery of support services to students in the third level educational setting; Be a member of relevant University Committees as required; Other administrative and organisational tasks, commensurate with the grade of the post, as may be required by the Director of Student Services or their nominee. The ideal candidate will have: Essential A primary degree in a related discipline. Desirable A Postgraduate Qualification in a related discipline. Prior experience in a similar role, in a Higher Education setting; Skills Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate well with students, staff, senior management, and academics; Excellent interpersonal skills including collaboration, advocacy, and empathy, which have been developed in previous roles; Outstanding administrative and organisational skills, including evidence of managing complex workloads within challenging and sometimes competing timescales; Proven experience working with key stakeholders across a large organisation, preferably within Higher Education Institutions; Demonstrated knowledge of challenges facing students and staff in the higher education sector; Proven outstanding level of attention to detail and accuracy in all outputs; Ability to exercise discretion with sensitive and confidential data and documentation; Excellent IT skills, e.g., MS suite, email, VLE, web maintenance and editing, information management systems; Experience of handling large volumes of data, data analysis and report writing; Unijobs is an equal opportunities employer Skills: Communication Attention to detail IT Skills
