We have delivered significant growth in our core business, and we have ambitious plans for continued growth over the next five years.WHY THIS ROLE IS VALUABLEThe Supplier Assurance Manager’s core role is to provide Ornua Cooperative Ltd with a professional ‘best in class’ supplier assurance system. The Supplier Assurance Manager will have responsibility for the monitoring of the Supply chain from a food safety and quality perspective through regular review and a risk-based audit programme.The role involves risk assessing all Suppliers / Service Providers, maintaining visibility of Suppliers / Service providers approval & reassessing risk as required. The incumbent will be responsible for developing and maintaining standards and codes of practice to align with Ornua requirements.The incumbent will have responsibility for monitoring of VACCP & TACCP, driving food safety and transparency in the supply chain through identification and controlling of perceived threats and vulnerabilities.The role involves maintaining close working relationships with Ornua Co-op’s Procurement, Trading, Ingredient and Consumer Foods divisions as well as warehouses, transport companies, manufacturers, subsidiaries, 3rd party suppliers/packers to the business and distributors to drive continuous improvement and corrective action. The role will involve driving and participating in continuous improvement projects across the supply chain.The Supplier Assurance Manager will be expected to work closely with Quality Managers/ Head of Technical to resolve key issues and to provide cover as required.The role requires the incumbent to maintain awareness of any changes to legislation, as relevant, to ensure all Ornua’s products and service providers meet legislative requirements.The role will involve travel as this is a requirement of certain aspects of supplier and customer interactions.KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:To maintain good relationships with, risk assess, monitor, and audit Suppliers/ Packers to ensure all product procured by Ornua Co-op is at all times produced in a safe manner and meets the standards laid down by legislation, due diligence, market, customer and Ornua own requirements.To risk assess, monitor, and audit Warehouses and Transport companies/ Distributors as required to ensure Ornua Co-op is at all times stored and handled in a safe manner and the standards laid down by legislation, due diligence, market, customer and Ornua own requirements are being met.To monitor adherence to Origin of Milk/ Ingredients procedures/ Codes of Practice.To continually risk assess Suppliers, Co-packers, Service Providers & Distributors and maintain an approved Supplier /Co-packer /Service Provider list and associated audit matrix and to support the business as required in auditing of New Co-packers /Suppliers / Service Providers.To drive continuous improvement with Suppliers/ Co-packers / Service Providers to Ornua through: Sharing of Key learnings from audits. Driving Corrective Action with Suppliers/ Co-packers / Service Providers. Development of Approval and monitoring procedures and policies. Trending of issues & working with cross functional teams to drive change.To work closely with all internal teams to maintain a safe and transparent Supply Chain which ensures Ornua Co-op product reaches the customer in a safe condition, meetings all legislative, due diligence, market, and customer requirements.To support the international Supply chain through: Working with the International Sales Teams to identify distributors / service providers which require review / approval. Co-ordinating Codes of Practice rollout to distributors / international service providers.Develop and maintain visibility of the vulnerabilities and threats within the Supply Chain through gap analysis and monitoring of Supply Chain VACCP/TACCP programme.To maintain the FSMA programme in conjunction with internal teams and US colleagues and work with Suppliers/ Service Providers to ensure compliant with current legislative requirements.To have a good working knowledge of legislation relevant to the manufacture, storage, and handling of Ornua product categories, including monitoring of any changes to this legislation during audits to ensure that all Ornua products meet legislative and legal requirements.To perform any other appropriate duties from time to time.KEY REQUIREMENTS:5 years’ plus with of all aspects of Technical/Quality Assurance, ideally dairy however food or beverage will be considered.A third level qualification in a technical / food science discipline.Lead Auditor Qualification.Strength of knowledge in the areas of Food Safety, HACCP, Dairy Industry, FSMA.Strong business results focus, a detailed approach towards task completion and drive to achieve results in a friendly manner but at the same time maintain quality and standards.Enjoy challenging situations and be a problem solver, disciplined in collecting information, ascertaining root cause of issues, and identifying and developing practical solutions.Strong communication, interpersonal, organisational, and administrative skills.Pro-active and possesses a 'can do' mentality.Flexible and committed attitude with the ability to display initiative.The ability to work well individually and integrate well with the Operations team.IT literate with strong Word, Excel and database skills, Foods Connected & M3 ideal.Flexibility to travel and work outside office hours, this role involves travel.Ability to work to deadlines and work under pressure. #J-18808-Ljbffr
