The Abbott Diabetes Care division based in Donegal Town manufactures FreeStyle blood glucose test strips and FreeStyle Sensors for use in diabetes management. Among Abbott Diabetes Care leading brands are the FreeStyle Precision, FreeStyle Lite and FreeStyle Libre system.

This is a 12 month Maternity Cover contract.

Major Responsibilities

  • Responsible for leading, managing and planning all aspects of inventory control from manufacture through to shipment.
  • Supply plan adherence and execution
  • Coordination of demand change requests
  • Leading on scenario planning, analytics and risk mitigation planning
  • Partnering closely with Manufacturing, Quality and Warehouse teams ensuring efficient production planning and inventory management
  • Maintain accurate inventory transactions, quantities, and due dates.
  • Reviewing Material at risk of Expiring Report
  • Prepare documentation for the disposal of all obsolete or rejected materials in accordance with the company policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and Control inventories of Bulk suppliers W.I.P and finished products ensuring achievement of plant inventory level goals.
  • Open/Maintain/Release Process orders.
  • Generating purchase requisitions as necessary and ensuring the material is released within the agreed timescale.
  • Create and maintain the ERP data in accordance with company policy and procedures.
  • Ensure shipping documentation for each TPM is prepared in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Monitor and report on monthly / weekly shipping schedules
  • Ensuring planning is run according to Class A principles.
  • Generating and managing Transition Plans for NPI Process
  • Partnering with key stakeholders; vendors, customers, and Global Supply Team
  • Ensure effective support of Master Production Schedules and Material Requirement Planning.
  • Ensure effective management of Inventory.
  • Adhering to & updating supply chain SOP
  • Leads and develops a high performing team that are aligned with business strategy
  • Education and Years of Experience

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a Planning environment, including 2 years supervisor experience
  • Experience using MRP/ERP/MES systems, especially SAP and POMS
