Supply Chain Manager for a leading supplier of Chemicals & ingredients across various sectors, requiring 5+ years' experience in purchasing and vendor management.
Our client is a leading supplier of Chemicals & ingredients across a range of sectors from Life Sciences, Pharma, Biopharma, Food & Beverages and Industrial.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in purchasing and vendor management, with experience in sourcing and providing Chemical Supply chain solutions to customers in a highly regulated sector.
The Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for managing the company's day-to-day purchasing activities, overseeing supply chain logistics, and developing purchasing strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the company's day-to-day purchasing activities across Ireland and UK branches.
- Oversee supply chain logistics (domestic and overseas).
- Manage any delays, non-conformances, damages, etc.
- Troubleshoot and manage all supply chain issues.
- Develop, lead, and execute purchasing strategies.
- Inventory and supply chain coordination.
- Collaborate with warehousing and sales to develop metrics for stock management, control, and planning.
- Manage and monitor slow-moving stock & short shelf life.
- Product Strategy and Planning - Sourcing new products / secondary sourcing existing products as required.
- Market Research and Analysis - understanding customer needs, industry trends, and competitor offerings.
- Supplier and Vendor Management.
- Sales and Marketing Support.
- Compliance and Regulatory Adherence.
- Drive improvement and define relevant KPIs across the supply chain with a view to cost savings and improving customer service.
Quality:
- Assist with maintenance of ISO 9001/GDP/FEMAS Quality Standards.
Health & Safety:
- Comply with H&S policies.
Education/Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years proven working experience in a purchasing role.
- Proven history of developing effective inventory management policies.
- Sourcing and vendor management.
- Negotiation and networking experience.
- Ability to gather and analyse data.
- Solid judgement along with decision-making skills.
- Advanced MS Excel skills.
- Experience in purchasing chemicals is preferred.
