Job Description

Supply Chain Manager for a leading supplier of Chemicals & ingredients across various sectors, requiring 5+ years' experience in purchasing and vendor management.

Our client is a leading supplier of Chemicals & ingredients across a range of sectors from Life Sciences, Pharma, Biopharma, Food & Beverages and Industrial.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in purchasing and vendor management, with experience in sourcing and providing Chemical Supply chain solutions to customers in a highly regulated sector.

The Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for managing the company's day-to-day purchasing activities, overseeing supply chain logistics, and developing purchasing strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the company's day-to-day purchasing activities across Ireland and UK branches.
  • Oversee supply chain logistics (domestic and overseas).
  • Manage any delays, non-conformances, damages, etc.
  • Troubleshoot and manage all supply chain issues.
  • Develop, lead, and execute purchasing strategies.
  • Inventory and supply chain coordination.
  • Collaborate with warehousing and sales to develop metrics for stock management, control, and planning.
  • Manage and monitor slow-moving stock & short shelf life.
  • Product Strategy and Planning - Sourcing new products / secondary sourcing existing products as required.
  • Market Research and Analysis - understanding customer needs, industry trends, and competitor offerings.
  • Supplier and Vendor Management.
  • Sales and Marketing Support.
  • Compliance and Regulatory Adherence.
  • Drive improvement and define relevant KPIs across the supply chain with a view to cost savings and improving customer service.

Quality:

  • Assist with maintenance of ISO 9001/GDP/FEMAS Quality Standards.

Health & Safety:

  • Comply with H&S policies.

Education/Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years proven working experience in a purchasing role.
  • Proven history of developing effective inventory management policies.
  • Sourcing and vendor management.
  • Negotiation and networking experience.
  • Ability to gather and analyse data.
  • Solid judgement along with decision-making skills.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Experience in purchasing chemicals is preferred.
