About The Role The support operations team ensures that customers for electricity and gas come onto our supply on time and with correct opening reading. While the industry marketing messaging is automated the team deals with any exceptions including rejected messages. This includes the tracking and identification on any issues with the change of supply process and resolving any exceptions. The team is responsible for ensuring that the account status recorded in our system are up to date and correctly reflect the actual on supply status. This role is perfectly suited to someone who enjoys working with data and investigating exceptions. They need to have experience of working within an operations environment and worked with continuous process improvement. The ideal candidate is curious, has strong numerical and analytical ability and wants to understand the root cause and resolve issues. The candidate will be comfortable working with colleagues and senior managers across the company, and will be able to present their findings in a clear and concise manner. Role Purpose: Ensure that all customers that have signed up to our services are successfully brought onto our supply and that no other accounts are on our supply. You will use SQL and Excell to identify exceptions in the change of supply process and resolve individual cases. Importantly, you will identify the underlying root cause of these exceptions and work with other functions including IT to find practical solutions to prevent these exceptions in the future. Key responsibilities: Identify and resolve exceptions to the timely and accurate change of supply process for customers Investigate root cause of exceptions where straight through processing has failed and propose practical solutions to prevent recurrence Analyse customer data by meter type and tariff to identify and resolve any anomalies Monitor and report on the capture of opening meter reads and successful submission to market within industry required timeframes. Work with other functions on improvements to maximise the percentage of actual reads at change of supply vs estimated reads. Continuously improve processes for greater accuracy, efficiency and reduce waste and errors. Essential Skills and Experience Highly numerical and analytical with excellent problem-solving abilities Proficient in SQL and Excel essential with PHP and Power BI advantageous Operations experience especially in process design and continuous process improvement Strong communication and interpersonal skills - enjoy working in team and cross functionally Practical approach with open can-do attitude Self-starter with the ability to learn autodidactically.
