Job Description

BDO Ireland seeks a Sustainability Consultant to join its newly established Sustainability Division, working closely with management and partners to drive sustainability initiatives across diverse industry sectors.

This role involves working on multiple client engagements, taking leadership of smaller projects, and collaborating with senior colleagues to deliver high-quality results.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of relevant experience, a sustainability-related degree or postgraduate qualification, and excellent communication, facilitation, and problem-solving skills.

Key responsibilities include serving as primary consultant for project initiatives, executing sustainability projects, engaging in business development, and effective communication with management and partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serving as primary consultant for project initiatives, responsible for communicating with and managing client expectations.
  • Executing sustainability projects, including Net Zero, Sustainability Strategy, Sustainability Reporting, and Sustainability Due Diligence.
  • Engaging in business development, including prospect meetings, proposal drafting, and project planning.
  • Effective communication with management and partners on progress and status of various projects.
  • Time management, work in progress management, delegation, use of initiative, excellent communication, and assertiveness are essential skills.
  • Adhering to budgets and ensuring deadlines are met.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise:

  • 3+ years' of relevant audit or consultancy experience within professional services.
  • Relevant 3rd level qualification.
  • A sustainability or environmentally related degree or postgraduate qualification is a prerequisite.

  • Excellent facilitation, communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • A 'can-do' and motivated attitude with a focus on delivery to client requirements.
