The role of a Senior Clinical Engineering Technician involves providing technical support to the Medical Physics and Clinical Engineering Department at St. Vincent's University Hospital.

Job Description

As a key member of the Medical Physics and Clinical Engineering Department, the Senior Clinical Engineering Technician will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving technical issues with medical devices, ensuring maximum uptime and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues associated with medical devices, including mechanical, electrical, electronic, and IT problems.
  • Contribute to policy development and service improvement initiatives within the department.
  • Provide maintenance services for electro-medical equipment, ensuring safety, accuracy, and reliability.
  • Assist with preventative maintenance and safety programs, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Advise on equipment selection and specification, ensuring safety and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in education and training initiatives, including the transition year program and research programs.
  • Develop specialist fields of interest within Clinical Engineering, contributing to the growth and development of the department.
  • Participate in accreditation and regulatory programs, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
