Systems Development Engineer, AWS Security, Foundational ServicesDESCRIPTIONThis role is located in DUB, Ireland. As a Systems Development Engineer on this team, you will collaborate with other experienced and senior software engineers to drive improvements to our technology, operate and maintain services and software solutions, and build and track metrics to ensure high quality results. Your solutions will help provide the ultimate customer service experience needed to anticipate and resolve customer's questions using an automated assistant. You will have the opportunity to work with business partners, leadership and other engineers, influence and drive product vision and lead the design of our systems.Key job responsibilitiesPrimary responsibilities include diagnosing and fixing production software issues, developing monitoring solutions, performing software maintenance and configuration, implementing the fix for internally developed code (Perl, C/C++, JAVA), debugging and executing persistence solutions queries, updating, tracking and resolving technical challenges. Responsibilities also include working alongside development on Amazon Corporate and Divisional Software projects, updating/enhancing our current software, automation of support processes, documentation of our systems, manage AFSS org level operational cadence and programs.A day in the lifeYou will get a comprehensive view of all aspects of Amazon's business. Be prepared for a rigorous technical interview process as we're looking for the highest quality candidates.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby- Non-internship professional software development experience- Experience of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems.- Administrative experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems and hands-on systems engineering experience- Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems)PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Experience with PowerShell (preferred), Python, Ruby, or Java- Experience working in an Agile environment using the Scrum methodologyAmazon is an equal opportunities employer.
