Job Description
Seeking an experienced Systems Infrastructure Engineer to design and support global IT infrastructure, including VMWare, Operating Systems, storage, Backups, and Servers.
This is a Hybrid position requiring 3 days on site, ideal for an experienced Contractor or someone looking to make a move from a permanent to a self-employed contractor.
Responsibilities:
- Design and support global IT infrastructure, including VMWare, Operating Systems, storage, Backups, and Servers.
- Manage compute and storage infrastructure capacity.
- Communicate with internal and external customers and vendors to ensure a resilient and scalable network infrastructure.
- Ensure security at all layers.
- Coordinate with stakeholders and technical personnel during project phases.
- Provide 2nd and 3rd level support for reported incidents.
- Liaise with manufacturer TAC support teams during customer incidents.
Requirements:
- 5 years experience working with VMware.
- 5 years experience working with Linux and Windows Server operating systems.
- 5 years experience working with storage and critical backup solutions.
- Solid understanding of cloud network technologies.
- Telecom experience preferred.
- Proven track record in working with small teams to aggressive timelines.
- Excellent documentation skills.
- Excellent spoken and written English.
- Commitment to provide a high quality and professional service.
- Ability to prioritise work tasks.
- Adaptable and flexible in approach to work, able to work under pressure.
- Good understanding of security, routing and switching.
