This is a unique role for a seasoned tax professional to influence the strategic direction of the firm, navigating complex tax issues in a fast-evolving market. Key Responsibilities: As the Tax Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the global tax function, ensuring effective tax planning, compliance, and risk management across all jurisdictions. Your responsibilities will include: Developing and executing the global tax strategy to optimise the companys tax position while ensuring compliance with local, national, and international tax regulations. Leading tax planning and structuring initiatives for mergers, acquisitions, and integrations of start-up companies, including due diligence, deal structuring, and post-acquisition integration. Managing all aspects of corporate tax, VAT, and other indirect taxes, including overseeing the preparation and review of tax returns and ensuring timely filings and payments. Advising senior management and the board on tax risks and opportunities related to the companys expansion strategy, including cross-border transactions, transfer pricing, and tax-efficient financing. Building and maintaining strong relationships with external tax advisors, auditors, and tax authorities, ensuring effective communication and resolution of tax-related issues. Overseeing tax compliance for all global entities, including implementing robust controls, processes, and reporting systems to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to tax regulations. Driving tax-efficient strategies for global mobility, including managing tax planning and compliance for employees on international assignments and ensuring compliance with local employment tax laws. Leading and managing tax audits and disputes with tax authorities worldwide, providing strategic advice and mitigating potential risks. Staying up-to-date with changes in tax legislation and assessing the impact on the business, advising senior stakeholders accordingly. Mentoring and developing the in-house tax team, promoting a culture of continuous improvement, technical excellence, and proactive risk management. Collaborating with the finance, legal, HR, and M&A teams to ensure alignment on tax strategies, policies, and compliance requirements. Essential Criteria: A professional qualification in tax or accounting (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CTA, or equivalent). Minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior tax role, preferably within a multinational environment or a top-tier accountancy firm. Proven expertise in tax strategy development, cross-border tax planning, M&A tax structuring, and global tax compliance. Strong technical knowledge of international tax principles, corporate tax, VAT, transfer pricing, and indirect taxes. Experience managing tax compliance, audits, and disputes in multiple jurisdictions. Exceptional leadership and people management skills, with the ability to build, lead, and develop high-performing teams. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels. Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills, with a proactive and innovative approach. Willingness to travel internationally as required.
