Job Description
Manage tax compliance for CarTrawler across the Group, supporting the Head of Tax in identifying opportunities and risks.
Reporting to the Director of Tax and Treasury, this 12-month contract covers maternity leave.
Main responsibilities:
- Ensure accurate tax return filing and reporting across all Tax heads (Corporation Tax and Indirect taxes) in all jurisdictions.
- Manage R&D tax credit documentation, reviewing financial calculations and working with advisors on technical reports.
- Support other business functions on tax-related queries and provide commercial tax analysis.
- Proactively ensure the business is educated on relevant tax models (e.g., VAT) for efficiency and alignment.
- Support the Director of Tax and Treasury on various tax projects, liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure all tax compliance requirements are met for new or changed processes and structures.
- Include tax in annual financial statements across the CarTrawler Group.
- Be the main point of contact for all tax matters, ensuring clear, concise, and timely communication.
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with external stakeholders.
Critical interfaces:
- Senior finance team (Head of Finance, Head of Finance Projects, CFO).
- Effective stakeholder management across all teams within the organisation.
Requirements:
- Qualified tax accountant with broad knowledge across all Tax heads.
- Knowledge of tax practice and interpretations in the travel and technology sectors.
- Specific knowledge of VAT as applicable to the CarTrawler business model is an advantage.
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to apply tax requirements to business decisions.
- Strong problem-solving skills combined with strong analytical skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
