Tax Senior Manager - R&D Tax and Incentives

Description BDO Ireland are looking for an ambitious, high-achieving Tax Senior Manager seeking to join one of the largest R&D Tax and Incentives practices in Ireland. In this role you will be managing the compilation of financial claims for R&D Tax Credit and Grant relief. This will include engaging directly with clients to ascertain the potentially eligible items of expenditure for the purposes of the R&D Tax Credit and Grant Regimes. This position will provide an excellent opportunity for the successful candidate to develop an understanding of the impact of various Government innovation incentives on businesses. You will be working directly to partner level, with significant direct client interaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • The examination of client operations and processes to determine costs which qualify for relevant R&D incentives, developing the appropriate methodology to be applied to such costs and the methods to maximise those incentives.
  • The planning, organisation, and execution of the financial portion of engagements, including meetings / discussions with claimant's financial personnel.
  • Responsibility for the project management of clients/assignments to ensure service delivery in line with client expectations.
  • Client assistance in certain discussions / audits that may arise with the Revenue Commissioners.
  • Mentoring / training more junior members of the team.
  • Carrying out technical research necessary to support client engagement and for internal/external thought leadership commentary.
  • Assist with and the ability to identify new products or services to existing and potential clients.
  • Assistance with the management of fee and collection targets.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • CTA with minimum 4 years PQE
  • Strong tax technical knowledge particularly in relation to R&D Tax Credit and Grant relief
  • Proven management skills and behaviours
  • Commercially minded
