Team Lead, Fabrication Job Description

Lead a team of fabricators in a busy and rewarding environment, developing skills and expertise in a fast-paced industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise sub-assembly duties, including mechanical assembly, door kitting, packaging, nutserting, and product delivery to the line.
  • Supervise the finishing, packing, and shipment of goods.
  • Support the Fabrication Supervisor in the daily running of the team.
  • Offer support, guidance, instruction, motivation, and organization to team members.
  • Develop the team to be a cohesive group and work effectively together.
  • Help team members realize their potential.
  • Assist the Fabrication Supervisor in the distribution of work among team members.
  • Input into planning, instructing, and negotiating within the team or with management.
  • Help to identify training requirements and train existing and new team members.
  • Assess work/instructions received from management.
  • Plan, organize, and delegate appropriate work to team members.
  • Monitor progress of work and provide feedback to team members.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping.
  • Actively participate in Continuous Improvement events.
  • Follow all Quality Control guidelines set by the company.
  • Follow the company's Health and Safety Procedures.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a Machine Shop Supervisory position is advantageous.
  • Experience in CNC punch, laser, and press brakes.
  • AMADA experience is an advantage.
  • Ability to effectively lead and manage a team.
  • Able to organize workload.
  • Able to read and understand Fabrication drawings.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word.
  • Experience in 3D modeling package is an advantage.
  • Able to work in a demanding fluid environment.
  • Strong communication and excellent leadership skills.
  • Highly motivated, able to work on own initiative.
  • Able to work to deadlines.
