Job Description: About The Team: The Tech Advisory practice sits under Advisory Services (AS) which provides transaction support, bankruptcy and restructuring advisory, valuation, corporate finance advisory, litigation, dispute resolution consulting, and forensic investigation services. AS provides strategic vision and training to Crowe International's Global Corporate Advisors (GCA), comprised of corporate finance professionals from independent Crowe Global member firms. The AS team members collaborate with other Crowe practices on solutions for various industries, from financial institutions to manufacturing. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Tech Advisory Data Strategist – Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technology strategy, business analysis, data analytics, IT project management, and business process analysis. As a Tech Advisory Data Strategist – Manager, you will work closely with executives to understand their needs and communicate these effectively to developers, ensuring that business objectives are met through technical solutions. You will act as a crucial bridge between our technical teams and business stakeholders. Your primary responsibility will be to translate complex technical requirements into actionable business strategies and vice versa. Below are example service offerings our tech advisory team delivers on behalf of our clients: IT Project Management Office/Office of the CIO for BI / Data Analytics Companies often need support executing their most critical Data Analytics / BI projects. Our team members may serve to fill key management roles as part of these projects. We deliver through a structured project management framework to oversee the successful completion, working with client resources, vendors, and consultants. IT Due Diligence As part of a Private Equity Group’s evaluation of a target company, we assess the current state of IT and provide key recommendations for post-investment execution. Key Areas of assessment Include: IT spend, IT organizational structure, business applications, security, IT infrastructure, and capacity to meet future business needs. IT System Selection We guide companies through the process of making their most critical and long-lasting IT decisions. We uncover key business requirements, research potential providers, assess alternative IT vendors, and build consensus around the winner. IT Mergers, Acquisitions, and Integrations We set strategy and oversee the integration of all IT-related aspects of a Merger or Acquisition. This high-intensity process includes combining infrastructure, applications, people, and process. Key Responsibilities: Client Engagement: Partner with clients to understand their business objectives, technology challenges, and opportunities. Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop actionable technology strategies that align with their goals. Strategic Planning: Develop and deliver technology roadmaps and implementation plans. Provide guidance on IT governance, risk management, and compliance. Project Oversight: Oversee IT projects from inception to completion. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget by coordinating with implementation partners and stakeholders. Business-Technical Translation: Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring clear and effective communication of requirements and solutions. Executive Communication: Engage with executive-level stakeholders to gather business requirements, present technical solutions, and provide status updates on project progress. Technical Guidance: Provide insights and guidance on Microsoft SQL Server and Azure Data platform capabilities, promoting their application to address business needs and maximize technology investments. Business Process Review: Analyze clients' business processes to identify opportunities for improvement and digital transformation. Mentorship: Lead and mentor other team members, providing technical guidance and fostering a collaborative environment. Documentation and Presentation: Document, diagram, and present complex technical material in a manner that can be easily understood by non-technical audiences. Proof of Concepts: Create proofs of concepts to support architectural vision, strategy, and tool evaluation. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred. Must have at least five (5) years of experience in technology consulting including IT Due Diligence, IT project management, or a similar role servicing private equity clients. Experience with Manufacturing & Distribution clients is a plus. Must have previous data analytics experience. Strong understanding of technology infrastructure, software development, and digital transformation. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically. Exceptional communication and presentation skills. Strong project management skills with a track record of successfully delivering complex projects. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, ITIL, COBIT) are a plus. Experience with Power BI or similar visualization tools is a plus. Hybrid or Remote. 25-50% travel required. Bonus Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server database development and administration. 2.5+ years of experience in enterprise data warehouse implementation in SQL. 2+ years of experience building automated ETL/ELT or data integration processes utilizing multiple source systems. In-depth experience in architecting, designing, and implementing complex data architectures on Azure, including Azure Data Factory, Azure/Managed Instance SQL Server, Azure Logic App, and Azure Synapse Analytics.
