Job Description

Technical Manager - Manufacturing This is a key role reporting to the Operations Director in a growing World Class manufacturing site, where you will manage the Engineering, Maintenance & Facilities activities at the plant in a safe & efficient manner. You will be key member of the site leadership team & involved in decision making & leading continuous improvement site wide Responsibilities Provide leadership expertise to solve problems & improve performance. Share your best practice and knowledge at all levels or where needed to improve skills & flexibility. Work with the CI Manager to manage & integrate lean philosophy into the site. Identify areas & coordinate cost saving projects on site. Be involved in daily production & operations, helping solve issues to ensure quality product & efficiency Lead, manage & develop programmes which support site targets. Lead CAPEX projects & manage compliance. Accompany auditors, customers etc during shop floor visits as & when required. Ensure Engineering team is fully compliant with company regulations, policies, & procedures. Reflect values & 'Risk-Free' culture; ensure all your teams take responsibility & comply with these. Motivate & coach your team, helping engineering managers to communicate expectations, standards & evaluate results. Initiate & lead employee training to ensure continuous improvement in the organisation. Develop new processes & programs where knowledge or skills gaps exist. With others, identify training needs in your teams, then plan & ensure that appropriate training is carried out. Provide regular & constructive feedback to new & existing employees. Comply with the training system & actively support it & implement ideas for improvement. Provide appropriate channels of communication including regular team briefings. Actively lead and take responsibility for all escalations in the Engineering function. Provide direction to engineering team & manage performance to ensure internal & external site maintenance requirements, repairs & tasks completed well & on time. Ensure that safe working practices for all including wearing PPE as appropriate. Manage & develop policies & programs to ensure a safe working environment and culture Apply procedures in a fair & consistent manner. You will have: B.Sc. Engineering, Industrial Technology or similar Five to eight years solid engineering management in a manufacturing setting Managed teams, improvement projects; mech/electrical equipment design, installation, modification and maintenance Strong organisational & mentoring skills in a high performing culture A positive, helpful, friendly, flexible, professional, tactful, confidential & sensitive manner Managed many tasks whilst retaining accuracy and attention to detail Excellent communication skills both written and verbal Rewards: A comprehensive benefits package on offer Skills: leading project management problem solving communicating educating
