Temporary Technical Officer role available in Newry area, covering a wide range of social housing related services, with a starting salary of £12.38 per hour.
Flexsource NI, Northern Ireland's largest social housing provider, is seeking a skilled professional to join their team. As a Technical Officer, you will play a key role in improving people's quality of life through secure housing schemes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting inspections of domestic and commercial properties to ensure works have been done to an acceptable standard.
- Authorising payments for works in line with cost and delegated authority limits.
- Working closely with Contractors and others to ensure works are complete, including administration of relevant paperwork and statutory approvals.
- Ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and providing information to tenants on the progress of works in their homes.
- Meeting with tenants, external agencies and/or tenants' representatives to advise on maintenance issues/policies.
- Implementing minor adaptations to properties to meet the needs of customers.
- Supporting the delivery of planned maintenance schemes, including kitchens, bathrooms and external doors.
Requirements:
- Relevant Bachelor's Degree in a building/construction discipline and at least a year's experience.
- Experience working within the construction industry.
- Ability to interpret working drawings.
- Full driving license and access to transport.
