Job Description Summary: We are seeking two Technical Officers to support the School of Natural Sciences' research and teaching activities, enhancing interdisciplinary teaching and research across various disciplines.

The School of Natural Sciences wishes to appoint two Technical Officers to support and strengthen the School's existing research and teaching activities. The post will enhance interdisciplinary teaching and research across the School, including Botany, Geography, Geology, and Zoology, and support the School's close links with the E3 Schools: Engineering and Computer Science and Statistics.

The role will support E3 activity and the transition to the new shared E3 Learning Foundry. The Technical Officers will provide technical support for research and teaching activities in the field, including the provision of technical assistance for our teaching programmes in Geography and Geoscience, Environmental Science & Engineering, and the Botany, Environmental Sciences and Zoology streams in the Biological & Biomedical Sciences programme.

The post holder will join a team of technical officers reporting into the Chief Technical Officer for that team. The successful role-holder will operate within a busy office and laboratory environment, involving daily collaboration with internal college offices and support services, institutions, and regulatory bodies.

The role requires a motivated and dynamic individual with excellent interpersonal skills and a proactive attitude to high-quality work with strong attention to detail. The role holder will also benefit from access to opportunities for continued professional development, with the School placing a strong emphasis on continued training and professional development.

The successful candidate will possess a relevant Honours degree, with a National Certificate or an MSc qualification being an advantage. The candidate must have a minimum of 3 years' experience, with relevant experience in a technical support role.
