Technical Manager / Quality Manager sought for Agri-Business in Tralee to oversee food safety management system and technical function.
Our client, a long-established Agri-Business, is seeking a Technical Manager / Quality Manager to join their team. As the Technical Manager / Quality Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the food safety management system on site and will report to the Operations Manager.
Key responsibilities and duties:
- Management of the food safety system and the technical function on site.
- Lead the food safety team & improve standards through the internal auditing programme.
- Manage the laboratory function.
- Liaise with suppliers in relation to milk quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with voluntary accreditations such as FSSC 22000 and ISO 14001.
- Liaise with Regulatory Authorities & act as lead for all 3rd party and customer audits.
- Promote a positive food safety culture throughout the organisation.
- Ensure consumer complaints are investigated and closed out in a timely fashion.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety legislation.
- Co-ordinate the environmental management system.
- Liaise with customers on technical matters.
Candidate qualifications and skills:
- Bachelors degree in food science or related discipline.
- Min 3-5 years in a senior technical role in the food industry.
- Experience in implementing and managing a FSMS.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft office.
- Organised with excellent good communication skills.
The role will be Monday to Friday with a requirement to work one Saturday in four. A competitive salary with pension is offered to the successful candidate.
