Our client, a long-established Agri-Business based in Tralee is seeking a Technical Manager / Quality Manager to join their team. As the Technical Manager / Quality Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the food safety management system on site and will report to the Operations Manager. Key responsibilities and duties: Management of the food safety system and the technical function on site. Lead the food safety team & improve standards through the internal auditing programme. Manage the laboratory function. Liaise with suppliers in relation to milk quality standards. Ensure compliance with voluntary accreditations such as FSSC 22000 and ISO 14001. Liaise with Regulatory Authorities & act as lead for all 3rd party and customer audits. Promote a positive food safety culture throughout the organisation. Ensure consumer complaints are investigated and closed out in a timely fashion. Ensure compliance with health & safety legislation. Co-ordinate the environmental management system. Liaise with customers on technical matters. Candidate qualifications and skills: Bachelors degree in food science or related discipline. Min 3-5 years in a senior technical role in the food industry. Experience in implementing and managing a FSMS. Excellent time management skills and ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Proficient in Microsoft office Organised with excellent good communication skills The role will be Monday to Friday with a requirement to work one Saturday in four.
