Job Description
Technical Support Engineer Vacancy Summary:
A technical support engineer role available in VMware by Broadcom, based in Cork, Ireland, requiring experience with VMware products, cloud and virtualization technologies, and strong customer service and technical problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Resolve customer technical issues, support the team, and the support operation.
- Engage with customers, account teams, and managers to deliver world-class technical support.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to bring value to customers, and to resolve escalated issues.
- Develop and expand skill-set on more technologies, and contribute to the development of knowledge articles for global circulation.
- Provide expert-level support for VMware Cloud Foundation suite of products, and troubleshoot complex issues.
Requirements:
- Experience with VMware products, cloud and virtualization technologies.
- Strong customer service and technical problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and account management or customer engagement experience.
- Fluent in spoken and written English language.
- 3+ years of Tech industry working experience, with a Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent years of experience in lieu of a degree.
- Knowledge of v Sphere ESXi, v Center Server, VMFS/NFS architecture, and troubleshooting.
- Certifications in Linux or other technologies, and expertise in reviewing and investigating log files to identify root cause and resolution.
Leadership and Team:
- Reporting to a Technical Support Manager with experience in managing enterprise support and leading teams to success.
- Collaborative work environment, with a core team comprising engineers at different levels supporting VMware Cloud Foundation suite of products.
- Requirement to work in-office, with shifts including Tuesday to Saturday, or Sunday to Thursday.
