Job Description

Volkswagen Group Ireland (VGIE) is wholly owned by Volkswagen AG, the largest automotive company in the world with many of the most iconic automotive brands. In Ireland, we are the national sales company of six brands - Volkswagen, Audi, Skoda, SEAT, CUPRA and Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles. Our combined share of the Irish automotive market is 25%.

We are currently seeking a Technical Trainer to join the team. The Technical Trainer will operate as part of technical training team which comprises of both internal and external trainers. This is key role within the team with a focus on delivery of new technology, product and progression training to all brands within Volkswagen Group Ireland.

Main Responsibilities:

  • The delivery of technical training in the traditional classroom/workshop environment.
  • Support and enable the Technical Training team in the introduction of new digital training formats.
  • Develop, devise technical training programs in line with the manufacturer's guidelines and standardized certification paths.
  • Prepare training material and execute training sessions, webinars, workshops etc.
  • Record completions and report data on completed courses, absences, issues etc.
  • Observe and evaluate results of training programs.
  • Determine overall effectiveness of the training programs offered within the National Training Centre.

Required Skills & Competencies:

  • National Craft Certification in Automotive or similar industry experience.
  • Knowledge of modern training techniques and tools in technical training.
  • Outstanding communication skills and comfortable speaking to crowds.
  • Working knowledge in MS Office (especially Power Point).
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a diverse, motivated team.
  • Very strong attention to detail and strong decision-making skills.
