Further details on our benefits package can be accessed here Benefits (life- Role Overview This role will support Technology Risk Senior Business Partners in managing second line Technology Risk and Information Security business partnership relationships. The role holder will also lead these relationships for one or more of the smaller legal entities or functions within Europe. The role holder will be the second line SME for one or more domain areas e.g. Cyber Security, Cloud technology, Technology Infrastructure or SDLC. In addition, they will be responsible for the meeting coordination and reporting production of second line forums. This new role will involve significant senior level engagement and stakeholder management across multiple functions and or lines of business in Europe. Team Background Technology Risk and Operational Resilience Oversight sits within Canada Life Group and is accountable for independent "Second line of Defence" oversight of technology, information security and operational resilience activities across all European entities including Irish Life Group, Canada Life UK and Canada Life Europe. There are 13 distinct IT units, each of which has its own individual set of technology platforms. Technology Risk and Operational Resilience Oversight is at an important stage in its evolution, following the introduction of the new first line Technology Risk and Security team operating model within the newly formed Office of the CIO (OCIO), Europe. The first line team is taking ownership of risk operations activities and implementing the risk management framework as set out in the policy and standards framework. The second line team has been realigned in terms of accountabilities, resources, and capabilities to deliver its mandate for impactful challenge, oversight and business partnership across technology, cyber and operational resilience activities of the European businesses. What you will help us to achieve - Report to the Technology Risk & Operational Resilience Officer, Europe, and represent Technology Risk Management in relevant forums. - Lead and support the oversight of technology risk and information security for European lines of business, ensuring alignment with emerging threats and market trends. - Enhance the Process, Risk, and IT control framework, and support regulatory and policy compliance. - Collaborate with 1LOD Technology Risk & Security Leads and the OCIO Risk & Security team to provide risk identification, measurement, management, and regulatory compliance advice. - Advise and support business 1LOD Technology Risk & Security Leads and CROs/Heads of Risk in managing first-line risk activities, providing independent risk assessments and opinions. - Inform Executive/Board forums on the technology and information security risk landscape relative to risk appetites. - Support risk training and awareness activities to enhance technology risk maturity and culture. - Collaborate with line of business and functional stakeholders to guide practices. - Maintain strong stakeholder engagement across the European business segment. - Provide strategic advice and educate senior executives on complex topics and emerging trends as a domain SME. - Work with the broader Operational Risk team to deliver common goals and ensure clarity in roles and responsibilities. What you will need to be successful in the role Knowledge, Skills & Experience: - Ideally educated to a degree level. - Proven experience in risk management, including technology and information security operations, with relevant risk qualifications. - SME knowledge in at least one technology domain (e.g., Cyber Security, Cloud Technology, Technology Infrastructure, or SDLC) is preferred. - Experience in management-level roles within technology risk and information security in large, complex businesses. - Understanding of technology risk management frameworks (NIST, COBIT) in large corporates. - Ability to develop risk maturity and awareness. - Experience with compliance and regulatory matters, particularly in European contexts. - Awareness of market trends and technology innovations. - Strong stakeholder management skills. - Preferably possess IT compliance or security-related certifications (CRISC, CGEIT, CISM, or CISSP).
