As we transition to a low-carbon energy future, this is an opportunity for someone to operate at a strategic level to shape and influence network architecture for our existing and future needs in new interconnector and offshore deployment and make a real impact as part of a centralised architecture function.As the Network Telecom Architect you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the telecommunications infrastructure critical to supporting EirGrid's operations. With EirGrid's plans to deploy new renewable energy generators over the next five years, there arises a pressing need for enhanced telecommunications capabilities to facilitate telemetry, SCADA, and all additional services for these installations.The successful candidate will be able to guide projects down the right technical paths, looking after not only the technical architecture choices but the impact of those choices on the overall solution approach.Knowledge, Skills and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in computer science, network telecom engineering, technology management or other relevant degree with 8-10 years post qualification experience including 4 plus years professional experience in a Network Telecom Architecture role with a holistic understanding of networks, telecoms and infrastructure technologies.Excellent technical network telecom expertise and the ability to clearly demonstrate experience of working on projects/programmes of significant value and scale.A strong track record in architecting and overseeing the delivery of complex solutions and an ability to drive successful outcomes.Strategic thinker, ability to translate complex problems into workable solutions in high pressure environments.Knowledge of the constraints and challenges of supporting a secure high-availability telecom network environment.Exceptional communicator, able to articulate technical concepts and analysis to non-technical audiences and business leaders.Ability to lead and influence others to move towards a common vision or goal and to work collaboratively with and through others.If you believe you have the skills and experience relevant for this position, please upload your CV and a cover letter.
