Job Description

The Theatre Manager will lead a team of nursing and support colleagues in patient-centered, evidence-based care. They will coordinate activity and resources within the Theatre, Endoscopy, and CSSD department to provide safe and efficient service. Key responsibilities include implementing quality management programmes, developing services, and fostering good working relationships. The role requires effective communication, team leadership, and resource management. A registered general nurse with 3-5 years of leadership experience in a theatre environment is required. The ideal candidate will have a qualification in Peri-operative Nursing, leadership skills, and experience with quality audit/assurance systems. Flexibility and ability to work 12-hour shifts are essential.

  • Implement and assess quality management programmes.
  • Develop services within the theatre and endoscopy department.
  • Foster good working relationships between colleagues and other staff.
  • Work within allocated resources through rigorous planning and monitoring.
  • Lead and implement change as required.
  • Develop evidence-based policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and lead on proactive improvement.
  • Ensure the staff development and induction programme is in place.
  • Lead on compliance with relevant accreditation standards.
