Job Description

Applegreen seeks a Trading Analyst to drive commercial success in the Republic of Ireland, with a focus on data analysis, forecasting, and strategic planning.

Established in 1992, Applegreen is a leading convenience retailer with over €3 BN in annual revenue and 600 Motorway Service Plazas and forecourt sites internationally.

The Trading Analyst will play a crucial role in driving the success of the Commercial team, working closely with the Senior Trading Analyst and other departments to achieve exceptional results.

The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, a strong communicator, and a natural leader who can inspire and motivate their team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assume full responsibility for the production and preparation of weekly reports, adhering to strict timelines.
  • Support and manage the forecast and distribution of products to our stores, allocating stock where required.
  • Collaborate and provide support with the Trading team on analytics requirements.
  • Develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships both internally and externally.
  • Conduct data analysis on trading activity and pricing strategies.
  • Implement change, introduce processes, and drive efficiencies within the department.
  • Stay informed on market and industry trends through competitor analysis.
  • Support in developing strategic plans at both product and category levels.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2+ years as a trading Analyst/Merchandise Planner/Stock allocator in a similar role.
  • High proficiency in all Microsoft Office software, including Excel, PPT.
  • Proficiency in using Excel to manipulate and analyze large sets of data.
  • Power BI or equivalent beneficial.
  • SAP experience advantageous.
  • Experience within a convenience FMCG retail environment also advantageous.
