Job Description

**Trading Analyst Role** We are seeking a Trading Analyst to join our Commercial Trading Department in ROI, supporting the growth of Applegreen, a leading convenience roadside retailer. **Key Responsibilities:** * Produce and prepare weekly reports, adhering to strict timelines * Support and manage the forecast and distribution of products to our stores * Collaborate with the Trading team on analytics requirements * Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders * Conduct data analysis on trading activity and pricing strategies * Implement change, introduce processes, and drive efficiencies within the department * Stay informed on market and industry trends through competitor analysis * Support in developing strategic plans at both product and category levels **Requirements:** * Minimum 2+ years as a trading Analyst/Merchandise Planner/Stock allocator in a similar role (FMCG experience an advantage) * High proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Excel, PPT) * Proficiency in using Excel to manipulate and analyze large sets of data * Power BI or equivalent beneficial * SAP experience advantageous * Experience within a convenience FMCG retail environment also advantageous **Key Skills & Attributes:** * Strong understanding of the FMCG industry, market dynamics, and consumer behaviour * Effective communication with internal teams, stakeholders, and suppliers * Problem-solving skills: creative and strategic thinking * Attention to detail: meticulous and thorough analysis * Time management: prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines * Team player: collaborating with cross-functional teams * Adaptability: flexible and open to new ideas * Proactive mindset: identifying opportunities for improvement * Highly organized individual with ability to plan and prioritize workloads effectively **About Applegreen:** Established in 1992, Applegreen is a leading convenience roadside retailer in the Republic of Ireland, the UK, and the US, operating 600 Motorway Service Plazas and forecourt sites internationally and employing over 16,000 people.
