Job Description

Trainee Accountant We are delighted to be partnering with a Cork based client that specialises in research, sustainable processing, sales, and distribution. The successful candidates will be working within our tight knitted finance team headed up by our Financial Controller. Responsibilities: Supplier invoice posting Posting of the monthly bank transactions Bank reconciliation Assisting with month end close & reporting Preparation of monthly management account schedules covering the areas of fixed assets, inventory, prepayments, accruals, payroll, etc... Analysing all material variances relating to the profit and loss account, together with the review and reconciliation of the balance sheet items. Assisting in the preparation and completion of the monthly management accounts and providing these to management and directors in a timely manner. Assisting in the preparation of company payroll, together with the submission of monthly tax returns. Assisting in the preparation of monthly VAT, VIES and Intrastat returns together with submission to the tax authorities. Assisting in the preparation of monthly cashflow statements to enable management to make important strategic decisions. Assisting in the preparation of product costings to ensure that these are correctly reflected within the accounting software to assist accurate monthly reporting. Assisting the finance team members in liaising of external auditors/tax advisors, and assistance with yearend queries. Assisting with ad-hoc tasks such project work, as and when required. The successful candidate will: Be in the process of or starting the process of completing processional Accounting Qualification. Highly conscientious, dedicated, and hardworking with a good level of attention to detail. Good analytical skills as well as having the ability to present your finding. Willingness to learn from an experienced and supportive finance team and to develop your skillset. Good communication skills to work efficiently within a team. Good IT skills to adapt to the use of our accountancy software Microsoft Dynamics 365. Morgan McKinley is acting as an Employment Agency and references to pay rates are indicative.
