Astute's Power team is exclusively partnering with a leading energy provider to recruit a Trainee Shift Manager for Aghada Power Station, based in County Cork. This key Trainee Shift Manager role offers a competitive salary of €46,200 - €54,400, along with a range of excellent benefits. Responsibilities and duties Reporting to the Shift Manager, you will: Oversee the safe and efficient operation of all on-site equipment. Manage the safety and performance of team members under your supervision. Train to fulfil the role of Shift Manager while providing support as a Power Plant Operator. Implement safety protocols and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Lead and develop the shift production team, including rostering, performance management, and training. Assist in operational troubleshooting, project management, and continuous improvement initiatives. Professional qualifications We are looking for someone with the following: An engineering degree or DIT Certificate in engineering or relevant work experience. Familiarity with power plant operations and safety systems. Demonstrated leadership in a production or plant environment. Personal skills The Trainee Shift Manager role would suit someone who: Has strong problem-solving and multitasking abilities. Can effectively lead, motivate, and train team members. Possesses excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
