The Company: Our Client specializes in the design, fabrication, installation, and maintenance of high-quality lifting equipment, including gantry cranes, hoists, and lifts. We serve a diverse range of industries, such as food production, manufacturing, and pharmaceuticals, ensuring that our clients have the best solutions for their heavy lifting needs. The Role: The Training / Quality Assurance Engineer will be responsible for managing all aspects of Training and Quality Assurance within the business. This role will focus on enhancing the skills and capabilities of the engineering team, ensuring high standards of performance and quality. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical and mechanical engineering, project management, and people management, with a proven ability to work closely with manufacturers technical departments. Exceptional communication and presentation skills are essential, and a trade qualification, Level 6 certification, or an engineering degree is preferred. Responsibilities: Training & Development: Lead the development of training programs for engineers and staff, including individual training plans that align with company policy. Ensure all employees are trained to the required standard and certified as per company guidelines. Build and maintain a dynamic, interactive database of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and learning materials. Empower engineers to resolve technical issues independently through thorough training and accessible resources. Create and manage a training matrix for all staff, implementing individual development plans based on business needs. Quality Assurance: Design and implement a structured approach to measure and assure the quality of work performed by engineers on-site. Develop and manage a robust quality assurance process across the business to maintain high service standards. Conduct site audits to verify the quality of engineers' work and customer satisfaction. Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all lifting equipment requirements. Operational Support: Provide hands-on support to engineers on-site when necessary and offer relief cover as needed. Gather and relay feedback from engineers and customers to the management team for continuous improvement. Work on-site and off-site as required, acting as a diligent, punctual, and courteous company representative. Attend company training sessions and stay current on industry trends and best practices. Management & Reporting: Report regularly to senior management on training requirements, quality metrics, and engineer performance. Be accountable for meeting key performance indicators (KPIs) that support both financial and non-financial business goals. The Person Strong electrical and mechanical engineering background. Experience in project management and team leadership. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external technical departments. Time-served trade certification, Level 6 qualification, or engineering degree is preferred. Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities across different locations.
