Job Description

Transfer Pricing Analyst role at Pfizer's Dublin 4 site, an 11-month fixed-term contract, involves supporting the Operational Transfer Pricing CoE in a hybrid working model.

The Operational Transfer Pricing CoE was established in 2016 to support Pfizer's international business and tax strategy in a centralized way. The international tax system is undergoing significant change, and there is a requirement for multinationals to ensure they have robust end-to-end transfer pricing policies in place that are compliant with local tax rules.

The successful colleague will develop a deeper understanding of how Pfizer operates globally and the business reasons why it operates this way. The colleague will participate in discussions with Global Tax, Statutory, Indirect Tax, WRD (Worldwide Research & Development) and PGS (Pfizer Global Supply) Finance teams to ensure all entities globally earn an arm's length mark-up for the services performed.

The candidate will support the end-to-end execution of the above market and clinical trials services invoicing processes between Pfizer legal entities. Additionally, there will be a requirement to support Local GAAP and Tax Audit deliverables.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Quarterly & Monthly Intercompany Recharges:
    • Help with the execution of quarterly and monthly intercompany recharges for above market and clinical trials expenses.
    • Perform reconciliations, prepare journals, investigate and resolve variances, and execute automated invoices.
  • Coordinate with Stakeholders:
    • Work with Market Finance, Pfizer Global Supply (PGS) Finance, Worldwide Research & Development (WRD) Finance, and other relevant stakeholders to get approval of relevant master data before the quarterly invoicing cycles.
  • Resolve Issues Promptly:
    • Coordinate with global tax, WRD finance, Digital, and other relevant stakeholders to promptly resolve issues with the recharge process to ensure accurate and compliant quarterly invoicing.
  • Year-End Deliverables:
    • Ensure timely execution of year-end deliverables, including journal preparation and posting.
  • Local GAAP Deliverables:
    • Ensure timely execution of Local GAAP deliverables for external auditors and preparation of Local GAAP journals.
  • Tax Audit Documentation:
    • Ensure timely delivery of all documentation on OTP CoE processes as required for tax audits.
  • Update Work Instructions:
    • Ensure work instructions and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) documentation are updated as necessary.
  • Understand Financial Processes:
    • Understand the functionality, interfaces, and interdependencies of Pfizer's financial processes and systems; ensure adequate internal controls are in place.
  • Adhere to Compliance Requirements:
    • Ensure adherence to defined control and compliance requirements as per OTP CoE policies and provide necessary support to internal and external audit processes.
  • Team Collaboration:
    • Contribute to team effort by assisting co-workers as needed to balance workloads.
  • Promote Integrity and Teamwork:
    • Help create a work atmosphere conducive to a high degree of integrity and teamwork.
  • Implement Best Practices:
    • Proactively participate in determining and implementing best practices and drive for continuous improvement, providing guidance to the OTP CoE team as necessary.
  • Support Transformational Projects:
    • Demonstrate and support any transformational projects by offering solutions, implementing agreed solutions, and representing the OTP CoE team at project forums as needed.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Qualified or part-qualified accountant.
  • Accounting or tax-related experience in a Corporate Finance, Shared Service, or Public Accounting environment desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of business processes, internal control, and Sarbanes Oxley requirements.
  • Previous Financial Planning & Analysis experience in a commercial organization and knowledge of the P&L (ideally Pharmaceutical) would be an advantage.
  • Practical experience of US-GAAP and Statutory Accounting, in particular knowledge of Pfizer Standards and an ability to analytically review and challenge statutory financial statements to ensure completeness.
  • Experience in dealing with internal and external auditors and supporting the audit process.
  • Strong accounting, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills with proven ability to drive continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly in spoken and written English.
  • IT skills, Excel, SAP & HFM / FDM experience highly desirable.
  • Ability to work independently, and to work under pressure and to handle several tasks/projects at once.
  • Ability to work in a matrix-structured organization.
