NoOffer DescriptionApplications are invited for a temporary post of a UCD Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1 within UCD School of MedicineReference no - 017495Protein-protein interaction networks are essential for immune cell signal transduction. The goal of this project is understanding the local interactome of an enzyme in space and time in steady state and during pathogen-induced trafficking as a prerequisite for subsequent drug targeting. Interacting partner proteins will be characterized in engineered cell models and verified in vivo. The project will require cell culture, mass spectrometry and associated bioinformatics, biochemical and functional assessment, microscopy for localization studies and some microbiology.This is a research focused role, where you will conduct a specified programme of research supported by research training and development under the supervision and direction of a Principal Investigator.The primary purpose of the role is to further develop your research skills and competences, including the processes of publication in peer-reviewed academic publications, the development of funding proposals, the mentorship of graduate students along with the opportunity to develop your skills in research led teaching.Include if relevant:Determination of the proximity interactome of an enzyme (active-inactive)Cell-based infection studiesDevelopment of complex purification and mass spectrometry analysisIn depth analysis of candidate interactors in cells at homeostasis and during infectionSalary Range: €44,347 - €46,912 Per Annum.
