The Team and the opportunity We’re looking for resources with expertise in Java based Technologies to join the group of our System Engineering and Integration team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and guiding the architecture of our Java based applications while actively participating in coding and development. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to balance strategic architectural decisions with hands-on development work. Your key responsibilities Lead a team of experienced Java developers to deliver value for your clients. Actively participate in coding and development, focusing on complex, high-priority features and modules. Design applications, systems or processes by adhering to Enterprise Design Patterns. Adhere to and promote architecture standards set as part of the architecture governance. Ensure high-quality software delivery through unit-testing, integration testing and performance optimisation. Quality assure program specifications and code. Create functional design documentation. Identify and implement integration tests, automating tests where appropriate. Investigate and manage complex production issues. Coordinate or escalate defects / problems. Coordinate team or release activities. Create and demonstrate prototypes / screen designs. Supervise and coach junior resources. Provide input to governance and status reports. Peer review code changes completed by developers. Work with cross-functional teams including project management, quality assurance and release management teams across the organization. Skills and attributes for success A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Software Programming or Information Management. Minimum 10 years of experience in a software development role. Extensive experience with Java frameworks and tools such as Core Java, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Rest API, Spring Web Services. Experience with ActiveMQ, Kafka and messaging technologies. Solid experience with database design and technologies (relational and non-relational). Experience in front-end technologies (HTML, JavaScript, CSS, JSP, Angular). Ability to develop unit testing (JUnit) of code components or complete applications. Proficiency in DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) & tools. Highly experienced in tools such as GitLab, SonarQube, Maven, NPM, Jenkins. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience working with stakeholders in order to work through business requirements. Experience working on public-facing complex systems, e.g., real-time systems and/or high-volume transaction applications. Extensive knowledge and understanding of software development life cycle processes, agile development methodologies, software design and testing. Technical solution design skills to allow the analyst to determine the optimum solution using the correct blend of technologies to meet a set of defined requirements. Experience with a variety of delivery methodologies, application development lifecycle and delivery models. Experience managing a team of developers. Soft Skills Excellent communication skills. Build and maintain appropriate relationships with clients and key stakeholders. Ability to assess the benefits and chance of success from potential leads and bring skilled support and energy to the pursuit strategy for significant engagements. Team Player. Ability to develop account plans and coordinate delivery of a range of service offerings, building trust by mobilizing the right resources and facilitating consistent quality. Self-starter and highly motivated. Ability to handle high pressure and fast-paced situations. Excellent presentation skills. To qualify for the role, you must have A bachelor's or master's degree. A minimum of 10 years of experience in Java Development and/or Solution Architecture. Excellent communication skills with presentation experience preferred. Experience in managing client accounts preferably in a consulting environment. Ideally, you’ll also have Ability to drive the project and prioritize tasks into manageable work products.
