Minimum Qualifications:
Degree: Master's degree in nursing.
Graduate from an academic program, approved by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Programs (COA).
Certification in addition to Basic Life Support : Certified as a Registered Nurse Anesthetist from the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA) or the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA).
Minimum one year of experience in the past two years prior to execution of the contract as a nurse anesthetist.
In the Labor and Delivery Unit and the main Operating Room, the CRNAs shall have experience in the delivery of and monitoring of all types of anesthesia utilized (general endotracheal, subarachnoid block and epidural).
Must have current experience in the past year (3 months or more of the last 12 months) providing epidural anesthesia (labor epidurals).
Contract workers requiring licensure shall have and maintain a current, valid, unrestricted license specific to the position (with no limitations, stipulations or pending adverse actions) in one of the 50 US States and/or territories.
The CRNA must possess and maintain current certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and for L&D CRNAs Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
Manage patient anesthesia experience, perform preoperative evaluations and preparations, administer monitored anesthesia care, regional and general anesthesia, monitor and manage patient reactions to anesthesia and surgery, manage fluid therapy, perform and manage invasive monitoring, and perform post-operative evaluations as privileged by the MTF Credentials Committee.
Perform a pre-anesthetic assessment and evaluation of the patient.
Record post-anesthetic visits, including at least one note describing the presence or absence of anesthesia related complications of the procedure.
