Job Description
As a commissioning engineer, work individually and as part of a team on UPS project commissioning, specialist site testing, system fault finding & repairs, and provide technical support across Europe. Travel abroad as needed to assist other Market Units deliver project targets.
Primary role to undertake UPS project commissioning of new equipment at UK and European locations. Perform specialist system testing activities, including SAT, IST, and customer witness acceptance testing. Compile technical reports and procedures.
Cooperate with local Delivery Organization on field site visits, ensuring technical competency. Become conversant with Vertiv manufactured product operation. Work in line with company H&S policy and safe working practices.
Promote company image on site by providing a professional service to customers. Instruct site staff on equipment care and operation.
Identify opportunities for equipment sales, maintenance contracts, and replacement UPS, Battery, and Capacitor sales. Respond appropriately to requests for assistance.
Requirements:
* HNC/HND in Electrical or Electronic engineering or equivalent
* Degree or equivalent in relevant discipline
* 10+ years in the Electrical/Electronic Industry or similar
* 5+ years in a UPS field operations role or customer interfacing role
* Full clean driving licence
Physical and Environmental Demands:
* Demonstrate consistent understanding of Corporate and Departmental policy and apply to everyday performance and decision making.
* 24 hour commitment with out of hours working in support of service delivery issues.
* Overseas travel required with varying durations, with working away as the default position.
* Flex working hours essential.
