Job Description
As a Designer at IBM, you'll create end-to-end customer experiences for AI-enabled solutions that help businesses make informed, data-driven decisions. You'll play a crucial role in shaping user experiences, mentoring other designers, and demonstrating impact and influence for product roadmap.
Responsibilities include:
- Understanding business problems across the customer base to provide context for deliverables.
- Collaborating with stakeholders across worldwide teams.
- Planning, leading, and moderating design thinking workshops.
- Converting actionable insights into low and high-fidelity mock-ups, patterns, prototypes, and development-ready specifications.
- Designing business process scenarios and flows for user interfaces and demonstrations.
- Sharing work-in-progress designs and engaging in constructive critique.
- Working closely with design team members and developers to build, update, and modernize software product user interfaces using agile methodologies.
- Participating in discussions regarding common patterns, assets, and efficiencies within the product space.
Required technical and professional expertise includes:
- Solving complex user problems through user interface design.
- Leading teams of designers through successful project delivery.
- Proficiency with design tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, etc.
- Knowledge of design principles including typography, layout, imagery, color theory, and creating efficiencies in visual design workflows.
- A portfolio showcasing previous design work.
Preferred technical and professional expertise includes:
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, team-based environment.
- Knowledge in planning and moderating design thinking workshops.
- Experience with AI and/or cloud computing technology.
