Job Description
Seeking a Digital Archivist/Librarian to support the National Library of Ireland's strategic objective of expanding digital collections and developing holistic processes for acquiring contemporary materials.
The Digital Collections department is a multidisciplinary team of IT professionals, librarians, archivists, software developers, and digitization operatives.
The role involves supporting the acquisition and preservation of digitized and born digital content, with a focus on collecting representatively and inclusively to capture the diversity of Irish experience.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Supporting the development of holistic processes for acquiring contemporary materials
- Collaborating with the Digital Collections team to acquire and preserve digitized and born digital content
- Contributing to the development of digital collections and ensuring their long-term preservation
- Working with stakeholders to ensure the diversity of Irish experience is captured in the Library's collections
