Vacancy for ISSDA Data Manager at University College DublinDate: 20 October 2022Location: DublinType: Fixed TermApplications are invited for a fixed-term post until 30 September 2026 of an ISSDA Data Manager within UCD Library. The successful candidate will be joining the Research Services Unit in a period of change. The person appointed will demonstrate an enthusiasm for the changing information landscape and the ongoing development of library services, including the implementation of new processes and services. This post offers great scope for an individual to provide leadership in the development of this important and evolving national service.There will be some opportunities for skills development specific to this post and also in related areas to support the overall work of the Irish Social Science Data Archive (ISSDA). This new position of ISSDA Data Manager will work alongside the UCD Library's Data Manager and ISSDA Library Assistant, and other colleagues as appropriate.The ISSDA is currently transitioning to a new online data catalogue, and the ISSDA Data Manager will play a key role in helping to establish and operate this new online service for archiving ISSDA datasets, in collaboration with technical, systems, and other staff.The ISSDA Data Manager will have responsibility for activities relating to the depositing of data, collection development and description, and other data support services for ISSDA data providers and users. The ISSDA Data Manager will also be responsible for processes and procedures for checking the data, documentation, and metadata deposited by data producers, and developing and implementing appropriate policies, standards, and documentation for making research data available in line with best practice and legal and ethical requirements (e.g., GDPR).The role will involve liaising and collaborating with external users and agencies such as the CSO, ESRI, and other data producers, and active and full participation in CESSDA projects and work packages, meetings, networks, and other activities at the European level. #J-18808-Ljbffr
