Job Title: Vehicle Data Analyst (junior)
Department: Data & Insights
Function: Motion (A Mediahuis Ireland Company)
Reporting to: Data Analytics – Team Lead
Location: Dublin; Hybrid (3 days office, Mon-Thu / 2 days remote)

The ideal candidate:
Is an early career or junior Data Analyst with an enthusiastic disposition, eager to join a hugely talented team of analysts.

You are a proactive self-starter who is comfortable with large datasets and enjoys improving business processes with automations and building analytical solutions.

If you possess a passion for working with varied datasets, are committed to delivering top-tier data quality, being an internal advocate of providing data insight and you are a car fanatic, this role is for you.

In a nut shell you will:
  • Design and develop new data product solutions for Irish and European customers across various business verticals (insurance, trade dealers, parts, etc.)
  • Enhance and automate data mapping processes from multiple large sources.
  • Collaborate with the IT team to analyse big data, identifying efficiencies for consistent database maintenance.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with trade and public customers in Ireland and Europe to ensure swift satisfaction.
  • Contribute to quarterly vehicle statistics releases for press distribution.
  • Investigate and resolve customer data queries promptly, implementing necessary corrections.
  • Coordinate with the group product and development team for data solutions and post-launch performance tracking.
  • Tell a Data Story - through data insights and analysis support internal teams to build narratives.
  • Assist in project implementation and front-end testing to uphold data quality standards.
  • Deepen understanding of Cartell's services, seeking ways to enhance value for customers.
  • Maintain advanced knowledge of automotive and technology sectors, applying insights to data analysis and process refinement.
Does this sound like you?
  • 1-2 years' experience in a similar professional role
  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject
  • Must have knowledge of relational DB's (MySQL)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills is vital, working directly with national and international B2B customers as well as multi-discipline teams
  • Excellent Data Visualisation skills using visualisation tools (AWS Quicksight a bonus)
  • Demonstrate analytical and critical thinking abilities
  • Fluent English verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel is essential
  • Eager to learn new technologies
  • Outstanding organisational, attention to detail, prioritisation, negotiating and influencing skills
  • Team player and ability to work on own initiative
Ideally you would also have:
  • Proven Skills with large data sets analytic tools and automating processes (R, MYSQL, Python, AWS Redshift)
  • Understanding of a full data pipeline including ETL
  • An interest in the automotive industry
