Executive SummaryWe are seeking a motivated and experienced VP of commercial operations to drive progress on the company’s growth mission in the emerging field of quantum computing. The ideal candidate will bring significant expertise to a fast-growing team, having a deep knowledge of running commercial operations (business development, negotiation, sales) with a focus on the advanced computing industry.Good communication skills, motivation and the ability to work within a diverse team dispersed across multiple time-zones are a must. You will work closely with the leadership, product, science, engineering and marketing teams to influence potential customers and partners, and help drive progress towards the company’s vision of being the leading software developer tool for quantum programming.ResponsibilitiesDay to day oversight of commercial operationsBuild and execute a business development strategyAssess the company's position on the commercial market and design strategic goalsIdentify and pursue new business opportunities including with government agenciesDefine and execute OEM partnership strategyNegotiate purchasing decisionsIdentify, research and manage potential clients and partnershipsDesign commercial strategies for the company's sales practicesCreate and negotiate contract terms with clients and communicate with stakeholdersConduct market research to inform strategy and stay ahead on potential opportunitiesContribute in both leadership and individual contributor capacities, when required, and enable growth of the commercial teamKeep up to date with the latest relevant technical advancesEssential RequirementsMBA, or equivalent work experienceAt least 10 years in a similar role spanning business development, commercial operations and partnerships.Experience in OEM partnershipsExcellent negotiation and sales skillsStrong analytical and decision making skillsKnowledge of quantum industry, and its ecosystemStrong communication skills and ability to work well in a teamStrong track record of driving partnerships with customers and government agenciesAbility to quickly learn and ramp up on new technologiesPassion for learning and driven to succeedReady for a challengeAbout The CompanyAt Horizon Quantum Computing, we are developing tools to simplify and expedite the process of developing software for quantum computers, a fundamentally new form of computer that exploits effects from quantum physics to process information more efficiently.
