**Job Summary:** Administrative support role in a private hospital, responsible for patient chart management, diagnostic test booking, and communication with staff and patients. **Job Description:** Blackrock Clinic, a leading private hospital in Ireland, is seeking a skilled Ward Administrator to provide clerical and administrative support to the Ward/Unit. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the Ward/Unit, providing excellent patient care, and maintaining accurate records. **Key Responsibilities:** * Prepare patient charts for admission and discharge * Ensure patient confidentiality is maintained at all times * Book and organize diagnostic tests as requested * File diagnostic reports on patient charts * Organize convalescence for patients as requested by the Unit Manager * Greet and communicate with visitors, patients, consultants, and staff * Liaise with nursing, catering, and cleaning staff to ensure efficient Ward/Unit operation * Maintain adequate stationery levels * Input financial charges to computer as appropriate * Utilize Word Processing skills to maintain up-to-date information * Liaise with nursing staff on the application of iPM * Input patient room transfers into the computer * Update patient discharge dates on computer on a daily basis * Input medical social worker, occupational therapist, and speech therapist changes to computer on a daily basis **Communication Skills:** * Communicate effectively with colleagues and healthcare teams * Communicate in a manner that avoids antagonism, reduces conflict, and prevents undue anxiety * Recognize limitations and seek assistance when necessary * Attend and contribute to appropriate meetings * Accept constructive advice when appropriate * Report incidents immediately that may adversely affect a patient, colleague, or the Blackrock Clinic **General Expectations:** * Support the philosophy, objectives, and goals of Blackrock Clinic * Observe the appropriate lines of authority * Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all patients and activities * Demonstrate flexibility by assisting in all areas of the hospital/clinic as required * Participate in developing and providing quality care within Blackrock Clinic * Assist in the orientation of new personnel * Continue to develop personal knowledge and skills and seek outside educational opportunities * Present a professional appearance and conform to the dress, hygiene, and infection control policies of the Clinic * Be punctual on duty **Benefits:** * Competitive salary * Onsite parking * Pension * Annual bonus * Discounted café * Sports and Social club * Employee Assistance Programme * Discounted onsite pharmacy **Why Work at Blackrock Clinic:** * We are passionate about our people and believe in their development and growth * As a member of the team, you can benefit from a range of benefits and opportunities for growth and development
