There will be fantastic progression opportunities within Ace Express Freight for the right candidate, so if you are ready to take on a challenging new role that will help you achieve your personal and professional goals, please apply today!Team Dimensions:Managing a team of up to 15+ people.Monitor & maintenance of weekly team picking levels (between 1500 and 2000 lines).Monitor & maintenance of weekly team order levels (between 40 – 100 orders per day).Monitor & maintenance of team goal: 15,000+ pallets per year delivered.Duties and Responsibilities:General running and management of the warehouse function across site.Be adept in all areas of the warehouse operation, monitoring KPIs for service, selection, loading, and compliance.Responsible for the compliance of health & safety within all areas of warehouse.Planning of Staff Rota and annual leave across the warehouse function.To contribute to, plan and execute the day-to-day warehouse strategy.Improving warehouse inefficiencies and reducing errors i.e., ‘raising the standards’.Ensuring staff receive the correct training on all required warehouse procedures.Half-yearly meetings with warehouse staff regarding performance updates.Planning all volumes effectively to ensure customer requirements are met and exceeded.Maintain the flow of relevant information / communications to the wider warehouse team.You need to be a leader, with good interpersonal skills to build a strong team around you.Rejections from customers due to picking errors, labelling errors, late dispatch, and operational issues will require a response and plan of action from you.Updating in-house system and maintaining good records of all activities.A confident user of IT with a good familiarity of warehouse management systems.Support all continuous improvement initiatives including cross departmental projects through proactive engagement.Proactively support and fully comply with the Companies Health and Safety policies and procedures.Assist in other functions within Warehouse on a project basis when requested.Deputize for the Plant manager to cover annual leave / sickness.Person Specification:Proven experience in a management role (advantageous if in a manufacturing or warehouse environment).Strong leadership and communication skills.Ability to make tough decisions and provide regular feedback to staff.Strong organizational and time management skills.Flexibility to spend time with staff to ensure they are performing efficiently.Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to identify process improvements.Strong understanding of warehouse operations and production processes.Ability to work collaboratively with senior management to make decisions that benefit the organisation.What We Offer:Permanent contract.Attractive Salary + Staff benefits.22 days annual leave.Company Pension.Excellent promotional opportunities.Positive working environment with a vibrant atmosphere.If you want to be part of the amazing ACE team and hold the required skillset & experience, please apply today!To apply, please send an updated CV to cgeary@ace-express.com and please insert the job title in the subject line.This job description is intended as a summary of the primary responsibilities and qualifications for this position.
