Position Description ESB Renewables O&M is a division within Generation & Trading (G&T) with responsibility for the management and the Operation and Maintenance (O&M) of ESB's 27 onshore wind farms (836MW), 6 Battery Energy Storage Sites and 1 Synchronous Compensator across ROI, NI, England, and Wales. As part of the delivery of the Net Zero by 2040 strategy, ESB will generate 70% of our electricity generation from renewable assets by 2030. This will require an increase to +5,000MW of renewable generation in offshore wind, onshore wind and solar. ESB are actively acquiring operational wind assets and as our existing fleet ages it is a requirement to extend the life of these assets. This role presents the opportunity to gain detailed knowledge of operational assets to direct the life extension of existing wind farms if appropriate and to input on possible acquisition of new assets. Key Responsibilities Overall responsibility for developing and implementing the End of Design Life strategy for Wind Operations. Effectively manage the risks associated with Design Life Extension and Acquisitions. Single point of contact for the delivery of all required assessments, long-lead surveys, reports and stakeholder engagement necessary for the Life Extension project programme in on-shore wind, including leading the engagement with the necessary regulatory authorities. Lead the development and ongoing management of key relationships with statutory authorities. Single point of contact for the O&M acquisition team and lead the project team to define O&M standard requirements. Promote and lead the safety culture across all activities by taking ownership and demonstrating a visible commitment to safety. Manage assigned PG standards, guidelines, and station local procedures. Optimise the life cycle performance, and risk exposure on the assets. Develop End of Design Life non-recurring business cases and report on implementation. Provide technical evaluation for End of Design Life tenders and monitor future tender requirements. Manage assigned Audits and Accreditation. Assist with updating the Generation Risk Register. Additional activities as required from time to time by the Wind Asset Manager. Experience and Qualifications Essential Minimum of 7 years' relevant experience. Relevant 3rd level qualification orequivalentworkexperience. Experience in Operations / Maintenance ofRenewable / Power Plant and inRenewable / Power Plant technologies, systems, and procedures. Ability to delegate and assign work to others to ensure on time completion of work in line with priorities. Experienceinwindindustrywithknowledgeofwindfarmconsent. Stronganalyticalcapabilitywith an abilityto useand developlarge scaledata systemsand tools. Strong commercialfocuswith abilitytoquantifytechnicalparametersinfinancial terms. Teamworkwith abilitytoworkwith crossfunctionalteamsbothwithin Renewables O&Mand acrossall areasofGeneration& Trading,AssetManagement and E&MP. Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities along with strong commercial and project management capability. Flexible and self-motivatedwithexcellentcommunicationand reportingskills. Location The successful candidate will be based at ESB Head Office, Dublin, or suitable Wind Farm location.
